Event Description: Photo Journalism
Event Notes: Photo Journalism: Photo-Journalism course is a comprehensive method of inquiry and literary style based, skills oriented Advanced Training designed to educate and instruct cadets of all ages in the fundamentals of social and cultural representation. This is a practical hands-on training which will involve numerous interactive drills, exercises, and scenarios which will be made as realistic as possible covering the concurrent trainings and events on base, as well as other teaching and training aids. It serves the purpose of playing the role of a public service machinery in the dissemination and analysis of news and information. All Adult and Cadet Staff will arrive at Camp Parks for Check-in by 1000 hours on Friday 05 JUL 2019. All Training Cadets will arrive at Camp Parks between 0800 and 0845 for Check-in at 0900 hours on Friday 05 JUL 2019. Cadets completed NSCTNG001 Request for Training must be uploaded by home unit into Magellan before a cadet will be confirmed. Applicaton page 7&8 (Supplemental Medical History), page 9&10 (Request for Accommodations) must be uploaded in Magellan if cadet will be bringing any medications or needs accommodations. See event web site, https://www.region12rtc.org for further instructions. Note: Cadet MUST bring Camera and Lap-top. Cadets who have completed POLA and/or a prior Photo-Journalism course, are encouraged to apply as staff cadets. They will receive Marksmanship training at the new Laser weapons training range on base. Graduation is on Sunday 14 July 2019 at 1100 hrs. All attendees must request base access and get approval no less than 48 hours prior to event. There will be time for photos and good-byes after completion of Graduation. Note: A "Compass Rose" Appurtenance will be awarded to all Cadets completing this training.
Lodging Notes: Barracks berthing will be provided by the NCO Academy, Bunk linens will be provided for each Officer Staff member.
Travel Notes: All Adult Staff, Staff Cadets and Training Cadets, Please use Oakland International Airport. (A Shuttle will "ONLY" be provided to and from this Airport). *For all Adult Staff and Staff Cadets, a shuttle will be available for arrivals between 1800 and 2000 hours,on 05 July 2019 and between 0600 and 0800 hours, on 06 July 2019. Please plan your arrival times accordingly. *For all Training Cadets , a shuttle will be available for arrivals between 0600 and 0900 hours, on 05 July 2019. Please plan your arrival times accordingly. * All other arrivals will be considered on a case by case bases with direct contact with the COTC only.
