Event Description: Recruit training is the preliminary training for all Sea Cadets interested in continuing their time in the program through the completion of advanced trainings. Recruit training is a nine day training evolution which seeks the train personnel into basic seamanship, military discipline, and physical training. Within this training, persons will be trained in the Customs and Courtesies of the United States Navy and United States Coast Guard, basic military knowledge, drill and ceremonies, and useful skills such as CPR. Much of this training is based on setting the framework for all further advanced trainings which cadets must attend for promotion. Bellow are the training outcomes: 1. Recruits will be indoctrinated in the fundamentals of barracks life, military standards, naval traditions, and the responsibilities to enable them to enhance and excel during their tenure with the Corps. 2. To provide training in a specific subject(s) such as CPR and firefighting. To provide basic insight into first aid and fire safety. 3. To provide a professional experience for NSCC Officers and NSCC Staff Cadets to allow them to train recruits and mentor in a supervised military environment. 4. To promote the highest level of training, consistent with United States Naval Sea Cadet National Goal, with an atmosphere of respect, support, and esprit de corps. All questions regarding the training evolution should be directed to your local unit chain of command. RECRUITS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND THE TRAINING WITH A BUZZ (#1) CUT. All those who do not report with this grooming standard will receive a haircut by staff. NO EXCEPTIONS.
