Event Description: This training will cover the general fundamentals of pre-hospital emergency medical care in addition to specific considerations when providing care in a tactical environment. This includes the unique phases of tactical medical care including care under fire, tactical field care, and tactical evacuation care. It will also include an integrated component with the concurrently running Advanced Master-At-Arms / SWAT Training. This training is ideal for those interested in a possible career as a combat or tactical medic, or for anyone who wants to improve upon their own medical knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Event Notes: DATES HAVE CHANGED TO 30JUN-13JUL DUE A LACK OF AVAILABLE BARRACKS. This training will require self-discipline, physical fitness and maturity. Cadets will be immersed in scenario-based training that will challenge their decision-making ability, discretion, interpersonal communication skills, and their ability to use common sense. We will require medical forms (pages 3-10 of application) be uploaded into Magellan for COTC review prior to being confirmed. If there are no medications or accommodations needed, we will still need these forms completed with a N/A in pertinent areas.
Lodging Notes: Lodging will be in barracks on Camp Parks. 2-3 cadets per room.
Travel Notes: Please contact COTC regarding travel if not from immediate area. Cadets flying in from out of state should plan to arrive into Oakland International airport the afternoon of 29JUN. Staff Cadets will check-in on 29JUN at 1300 hours. Cadets will check-in on 30JUN between 0900-1100. All cadets will report in NWUs.
